How to Register and Set Up iAM Smart?
Streamlining the Registration and Set-up Process for iAM Smart
iAM Smart is a mobile app provided by the Hong Kong government that lets you access public services online easily and securely. Follow the steps below to complete your registration using your mobile phone.
Steps to Sign Up
- Open the iAM Smart mobile app on your phone
- Tap on Start Quick Registration
- Select Adult (Aged 18 or over)
- Read the Declaration of the Applicant carefully
- If you agree, tap Agree and then Start
- Make sure voice guidance is enabled to help you through the process
- First, take a photo of the front side of your Hong Kong Identity Card (HKIC)
- Then, place your HKID close to the NFC area on your phone (usually near the back or top)
- Hold it in place for about 8 seconds until the app confirms the card has been read
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- Align your face inside the frame on the screen
- Complete the movements as instructed for real-person verification, glare detection, and facial identification
- Use your phone’s built-in biometric system (such as fingerprint or face unlock) to confirm your identity
- Create a 6-digit password for logging into your iAM Smart account
- Enter your email address for account verification and communication
